Still Freehold was third world then,

The “no football” town

Lacrosse had just come around,

The town with two high schools,

That had a hard time competing

Like in anything at all

Because they’re jail-like wastes

With no sports culture

And indifferent people

Again and again

And then the criminals within,

Have always been:

Can you imagine having to have this “woman’s” name on your report card?

Like forever, in your files

Just sulfurous and vile

Who the hell let it in?
